Sam Lustig is a composer, producer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist based in Los Angeles, who over the last fifteen years has written and produced music for orchestras, big bands, rock bands, theatre, short films and more. He enjoys writing in a broad range of musical styles, and honed his skills at the California Institute of the Arts, where he studied orchestration, film scoring, jazz and world music, receiving his BFA in Composition in 2004. Shortly after graduation he began composing music regularly for the 24th Street Theatre in Los Angeles, providing live score in several hundred performances of their Enter Stage Right show sponsored by Jack Black.  For three seasons (2009-2011) he wrote and performed underscore for the L.A. Philharmonic’s award winning outdoor concert series ‘SummerSounds for Kids at the Hollywood Bowl’  (recipient of Los Angeles Magazine’s Best Concert award, August 2010). As producer/songwriter he has released four albums to date of original music (available on iTunes, Amazon and more) and served as producer/session player on numerous independent projects including a brief tour with recent Grammy winners La Santa Cecilia. He’s been fortunate to work in some of Southern California’s coolest recording facilities, including Paramount, Ameraycan, and The Village among others, and recently had the pleasure of recording at Smecky Studios in the Czech Republic with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
He also enjoys occasionally playing out with his band MisterBarnabus, and has performed at many notable L.A. venues over the years.
